CFEC Advisory Committee

CFEC’s Advisory Committee consists of a diverse group of individuals representing a broad range of education stakeholders as required of Statewide Family Engagement Centers under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Parent representatives make up a majority of the Committee and are joined by representatives of education professionals with expertise in improving services for disadvantaged children; representatives of local elementary and secondary schools, including students; representatives of the business community; and at least one representative of the state Department of Education and a local school district.

CFEC Advisory Committee members are tasked, from their unique perspectives, with helping to ensure that CFEC’s services and materials are addressing the needs of families, including our families of focus, as well as the districts and schools who serve them. In addition to providing input and feedback during meetings, Committee members contribute their time and expertise to review new CFEC materials to help ensure that they are family-friendly and culturally responsive. They help expand CFEC’s reach through their own networks of families and educators, and they serve as champions for education and family engagement in their local schools and communities.
