We recognize that academic advising is an essential part of your educational experience, and building a relationship with your advisor is important. Academic advisors are assigned by major, and each advisor works closely with program faculty to ensure that you receive sound advising information. We aim to provide all students with continuity by keeping them assigned to the same academic advisor throughout their undergraduate degree program.
Meetings with your advisor should be informative and provide useful information for you. You can bring your questions to your advisement sessions, and we will work diligently to provide you with all the information you need to complete your undergraduate program in a successful and timely manner. While we encourage students to ask questions as they arise, we also know it’s imperative for students to understand the policies surrounding their major and where to find that information. Please consult the College of Education Undergraduate Advising Guide to view major-specific policies. Carefully read the Curriculum Guide for your major. In addition to understanding college and major specific policies, you can find university policies in the USC Undergraduate Academic Bulletin.
Our academic advisors are here to support you, and we truly enjoy working with students as they pursue their academic and career goals. Whether it is to celebrate a success or help navigate an unexpected challenge, our advisors are equipped to guide you through your college experience. We're committed to your success and are here to ensure that you have the tools and resources needed to thrive at the College of Education.
