The Carolina Family Engagement Center in partnership with Yanfeng Xu, Ph.D., assistant professor in USC’s College of Social Work, submitted and were granted funding through USC’s 2020 Racial Justice and Equity Research Fund. The project is entitled Examining Black-White Disparities and Identifying Empowerment Solutions among Custodial Grandparent-Headed Families During COVID-19 in South Carolina: A Mixed-Methods Community-Based Study. The results of this study will be used to advocate for custodial grandparents, particularly grandparents of color, to increase resources and supports in South Carolina.
