Federal Direct Graduate Plus Loan
PLUS-Loans are low-interest, federally insured loans made available to graduate and professional students. Students must first apply for a Stafford Loan. Students can borrow the cost of attendance minus any other aid received. To receive funds students must be enrolled in a minimum of six hours per semester. PLUS loans are based on the credit-worthiness of the applicant. The lender, not the University, makes a credit check. If a graduate student is denied a PLUS due to credit issues, they may seek the assistance of a credit-worthy co-borrower.
