The USC School of Medicine (SOM) in Columbia is one of the top research-funded units at USC, with a large scientific portfolio in many disciplines including cell biology, immunology, neuroscience, and pharmacology. The USC SOM is home to the USC Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) on Dietary Supplements and Inflammation, the Cardiovascular Translational Research Center, and the South Carolina IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE), among others. Our research impacts health services both within the University and across the State of South Carolina and we are committed to generating research opportunities for students, faculty, medical residents and fellows, and external partners.
