Background
Parks Rogers is a former group publisher for multiple publishing companies, publisher, advertising VP, advertising sales manager for companies including The Washington Post, Gannett, The State Newspaper, The Post and Courier, The Fayetteville Observer and The Newspaper Association of America. He is also a former instructor in the North Carolina community college system.
Teaching
Rogers believes learning is a sensory experience and endeavors for his students to use the senses — hear it, see it, read it, write it, say it, do it — in the classes he teaches. He relies on both his professional and educational background in journalism instruction.
Rogers teaches Writing for Mass Communications, Publication Writing and Design, Media Sales and Technology and Business Concepts for Communicators.

Personal
Rogers is married and lives in Columbia. He has two adult daughters, one working for
Google and living in London; the other living in Los Angeles and owns a public relations
company specializing in product placement in video productions.
His national and international publishing career has taken him to all 50 states, Canada,
Mexico and Italy for various work assignments. He has written weekly editorial opinion
columns for many years in addition to leading advertising departments at various publishing
companies in print, online and event formats
When he is not teaching, he enjoys his German Shepherd, gourmet cooking and travel.
