The School of Journalism and Mass Communications invites applications for two nine-month tenure-track faculty appointments at the rank of associate professor or full professor to begin August 16, 2025. The successful candidates will have a research and publication record commensurate with an appointment at the associate or full professor rank aligned with the our tenure and promotion guidelines, with a focused research agenda and teaching experience in any of the areas of expertise represented in our school, including but not limited to the following: advertising, broadcast journalism, journalism, mass communications, public relations, sports media or visual communications. We welcome applications from any methodological background. We seek a colleague whose scholarly work will contribute to the department’s national and international reputation.

The ideal candidate will have considerable industry experience around the application of digital technologies, particularly AI, in mass communication contexts—strategy, analysis, and/or content production. The individual should be able to lead workshops, trainings, and lead applied projects and/or research or creative scholarship in the AI arena.

The iSchool is expanding its faculty to address the growing need for information professionals trained to understand and apply AI technologies in various information organizations including libraries, museums, government organizations, and private corporations.
