AI Ethics Advisory Board
The AI Ethics Advisory Board (AI EAB) consists of GSCC members expert in numerous aspects of both ethics and AI. We offer media commentary, training, guidance, research, policy analysis/statements, publications, and community engagement in AI ethics. We often present our research at conferences but also offer speaking engagements and individual solutions regarding the growing influence of AI, quantum computing, robotics, digital warfare and influence, and new technologies.

Amit Sheth, Ph.D., Technical Director of AI-EAB, Founding Director of the Artificial Intelligence Institute
Amit Sheth’s h-index is 102 (May 2019) with > 42,000 citations to his publications (placed among the top 100 researchers in the world for computer science based on h-index in 2018; historical information based on Microsoft Academic Search: http://j.mp/MAS-a). He has been a PI of numerous competitive research grants, totaling over $27 million, sponsored by federal agencies (NSF, NIH, DARPA, AFRL, etc.) as well as industry (Microsoft Research, IBM Research, HP labs, etc.). Additionally, more than $5 million has been awarded to support his technology commercialization and R&D efforts. He has had highest graduate research focused expenditure in his college (and likely, his university) since he joined academia (directly supporting approximately 25 students and post-docs, including 13-18 Ph.D. students)
Alamir Novin, Assistant Professor at USC
Alamir Novin researches Human-Computer Interactions, Cognitive Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cybersecurity. Prior to his current employment in research, he did data science and data journalism. He then joined one of the only research teams in Canada studying science media models (The Concordia Science Journalism Program) and researched Data Journalism alongside Data Science.

Further, we can work with the larger GSCC members to create expertise for advising on AI across varied industries, from mis-and disinformation to government relations, non profits, and disaster response, among many other areas of our member's expertise.
Creating individualized ethical frameworks for AI use is our goal as well as disseminating academic finding for the larger community to support the development of ethical AI in the future. We offer media commentary, training, guidance, research, policy analysis/statements, publications, and community engagement in AI ethics. We often present our research at conferences but also offer speaking engagements and individual solutions regarding the growing influence of AI, quantum computing, robotics, digital and autonomous warfare, covert influence, and social, workplace and ethical implications of new technologies.
