Teaching
Art Farlowe has been recognized as the Ada B. Thomas Academic Advisor of the Year at the University of South Carolina as well as a finalist for the Freshman Advocate Award and the University 101 Teacher of the Year. He is a firm believer in the idea that academic advising is teaching. He tries to involve students in making good decisions and making plans for their future.

Personal
Farlowe loves to be on the go. His favorite summer spot is Craigville Beach on Cape Cod, Mass. His favorite place to be in the fall is wherever the Gamecocks are playing; he enjoys making road trips to each SEC campus. He is new to Crossfit and likes to be active and somewhat fit. He has two nephews and a niece. The oldest is a student at Western Carolina University, the middle will be wrestling at North Carolina State University next fall and the youngest is on the dance team in high school.
