Communications and Marketing

Approved Vendors

From time to time, even the best communicators find they need a little help. It may be a project that exceeds your bandwidth or one that requires additional expertise. That's when you can turn to a brand-trained, university approved vendor.

How to Get Started

Your first step is to reach out to your unit communications manager. Describe your project, timeline and your budget. Together, you will decide if it is an in-house project or one that requires additional help. After you determine your need for external services, email Communications Services who can help connect you with the approved vendor most appropriate for your project.

Find the Right Partner

When you contact Communications Services, you may find there are on-campus resources that fit your project. When off-campus resources are required, approved vendors can provide marketing strategy, writing, design, video, web, digital and public relations services. Here are a few things to consider in the process:

After you confirm with your communications manager that you need additional services, you should work with the vendor to develop
a professional services agreement that clearly outlines the scope, deliverables, timeline and budget for the project before work begins.

Consult the list of approved vendors and review online portfolios to see their work. You will work directly with the vendor you choose to hire to develop an agreement for the work.

Because approved vendors have successfully completed the FPB process, trained in brand style and agreed to a pre-set hourly rate, they are "preferred suppliers" in the purchasing system. You may select and work with approved vendors without having to get competitive bids.

CURRENT FIXED RATES FOR APPROVED VENDOR SERVICES

Max. Fixed Rate/Hr.

The fixed hourly rates are the maximum allowed under the FPB and some vendors may charge less, so you may still wish to compare vendors to find the best price for your budget.

Communications and Marketing works to maintain the right level of vendor relationships to meet the needs of university communicators and retain vendors in the program.

The FPB for Integrated Marketing Services is open, and qualified professionals are welcome to apply to become a vendor.

If you have had a successful work experience with a professional communicator who is not on the list, encourage them to apply to become a vendor or contact Melissa Spring, who coordinates the FPB  application process for Communications and Marketing.
