We use a wide range of photography to showcase our unique people, culture and location. There are four main subject groups that can be used to tell the Gamecock story. It's important to vary both subjects and styles to create balanced compositions.
Also, be sure to always select photos that relate well to the associated content. For example, don’t use an athletics photo to promote a portfolio review event.

Accessible Photos
Images must be accessible to those with low vision and those using assistive technology.
To make your images accessible, follow the university's alternative text guidelines.
University Stock Photography
The university photo collection includes a wide range of images such as campus scenes, notable buildings, university events, and classroom and laboratory environments. The images are housed on an image management system and can be downloaded for free for use in communications projects, presentations and more.
Visit gamecocks.photoshelter.com to access a public gallery of university-related images. Contact us for access credentials, which will allow you to download images. You must also create an account to view any invitation-only galleries that have been shared with you. With an account, you can log in to access invitation-only galleries, search for photos and create lightboxes of selected images. Be sure to check that the alt text is accurate and descriptive for all stock photos you use.
For specific photo needs or questions, please submit a photography request.
Portrait Photos
Faculty and staff members in need of a business portrait may book an appointment for a free photo session in our photo studio. Afterward, you'll be provided with a professional-quality digital image you can use for internal and external marketing purposes.
Portraits can be requested through a photography request. If you have a specific need for a portrait, please contact your unit's communicator for options.
