Application Tips

Whether you are applying for your first role or continuing your career journey, this guide will help you successfully complete your employment application.

Step-by-Step Application Process

Number 1

Create Your Account

Visit the USC Careers Portal. Click “Create Account” and fill in the required information. Once created, you will be logged into the system and ready to apply.

Number 2

Search and Apply for a Position

You must apply for a specific job before completing the application. The system does not allow you to submit a general application without selecting a position.

Number 3

Complete the Application

Fill out all required fields. Incomplete applications may not be considered. Include accurate employment dates, education, and qualifications. Attach any required documents (e.g., resume, cover letter) before submitting.

Number 4

Review Before You Submit

Once submitted, your application cannot be edited. Double-check for spelling, grammar, and correct attachments. Do not withdraw your application or create a new account to make changes.

Important Tips

Include all relevant experience—full-time, part-time, internships, and volunteer work.

For the best experience, use Google Chrome when accessing the application portal.

You can only apply for a position once. If you withdraw or apply, you cannot reapply to the same job.

Log into your account and click “Your Applications” to view the status. If it says, “In Progress,” your application is under review—no further action is needed.
