Compensation

The University of South Carolina seeks to provide all employees a competitive level of compensation which reflects their contributions to the University’s mission of instruction, research, and service. We are committed to attracting and retaining top talent and to maintaining a fair and equitable compensation program for our valuable employees.

Institutional Minimum Wage 

 On July 1, 2023, the minimum rate of pay was increased to $15.00 per hour for hourly temporary employees.

In addition, graduate student workers, both hourly and salaried, were increased to $15.00 per hour on the Columbia campus.
