In this session, you will explore the reasons and meaning behind purposeful reflection. You will examine reflection from both personal and student perspectives and engage in practical applications that support your students’ learning and your own professional growth as you plan for your next year as faculty.

  • Define reflection and explain its purposes 
  • Describe the DEAL model of reflection 
  • Develop guided reflection questions 
  • Reflect on your first-year faculty experience

Participants will gather for lunch as we recognize faculty who completed the New Faculty Academy. Honorees will be acknowledged by name, receive a certificate and commemorative gift, and be entered into a raffle for a $1,000 professional development award.
