Universal Design for Learning Community of Practice (UDL CoP)

The CTE has launched a Community of Practice (CoP) focused on Universal Design for Learning (UDL). This CoP aims to center conversations regarding how UDL can be used to support USC students and innovate teaching practice. The goals of the CoP are:

  • Establishing best practices for meeting the needs of all USC students.
  • Developing strategies for ensuring course content accessibility.
  • Identifying opportunities to support faculty in implementing UDL principles.
  • Problem-solving through instructional challenges regarding accessibility.
  • Creating a sense of belonging for all students through intentional teaching approaches.

Initial CoP activities include:

  • Workshopping curricular materials and assessments.
  • Inviting speakers across campus to share their experience implementing UDL in their courses.
  • Revising and drafting course syllabi that reflect UDL considerations.
  • Informal discussions and networking among USC faculty, staff, and graduate students.

We invite faculty, staff, and graduate students at the University of South Carolina to join us in this Community of Practice. Please fill out the form below to express your interest.
