The Center for Teaching Excellence is excited to announce the collaboration between CTE, the Office of the Provost, and Auburn University’s Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning to offer full-time faculty at the USC Columbia campus, Palmetto College campuses, and Schools of Medicine - the Teaching with AI course – a world-class, fully-online, self-paced course especially designed for higher education faculty. If you are not a full-time faculty member at the campuses previously mentioned, you can individually enroll in the Teaching with AI course for $89 through Auburn University.
As featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education and Inside Higher Ed, this course is interactive (not just a bunch of videos!) and thought-provoking. This course was also awarded the Outstanding Program: Noncredit Award by the Online and Professional Education Association (UPCEA)which recognizes outstanding professional and continuing education programs that do not offer credit.
Teaching with AI will support you in this work by:
- introducing you to the terms and tools related to AI and machine learning,
- providing you opportunities to see them in action and try them yourselves,
- engaging you in conversations with colleagues at USC about how you plan to address the ethical and technical issues of the "AI disruption" in your courses,
- showing you how students are using these tools, and
- exploring ways to partner with your students and your colleagues as we navigate this shifting landscape together towards the shared goal of designing courses that engage our students and support their learning.
