Career Enhancement Series

The Kennedy Pharmacy Innovation Center offers a Career Enhancement Series to help pharmacy students at the University of South Carolina further their professional development, discover their career passions and enhance their interpersonal skills.

About

At KPIC, we unite the study and practice of pharmacy with the exciting opportunities of entrepreneurship and innovation. We seek to maximize the personal and professional fulfillment of our graduates by exposing students to a wide variety of career paths in an environment that encourages ingenuity and innovation.

The Career Enhancement Series is an offering available to students in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at USC. The series consists of videos, webinars, coaching sessions, worksheets and more to help students continue to develop and prepare for their pharmacy career.

Series Topics

Are you confident in your ability to ‘network’ to increase the opportunities in your career both during and after pharmacy school? Are you confident in your ability to humbly talk about your strengths, achievements, and character? If your answer was no to either of those questions, then this material is for you. This section of the Career Enhancement Series provides tips on networking, personal branding, elevator pitches, and leveraging LinkedIn

Attending professional conferences and meetings is a good way to develop your network. Our Professional Meeting Catalog, part of the Career Enhancement Series, is a compilation of all pharmacy conferences and meetings that our students and faculty have attended, including helpful information regarding registration costs, general locations, and benefits of attending.

You've finished pharmacy school. What comes next? The Job Searching section of the Career Enhancement Series provides students with tips, guidelines, and further resources to aid in the job search process. We provide guidance on each step in the process you will be sure to encounter - from CV/Resume reviews to writing cover letters, participating in mock interviews and more.

Feeling confused or overwhelmed as to which area of pharmacy you want to pursue? The Building Your Passion section is designed to help you identify areas of interest and how your personality and/or strengths may suit you in various settings. Attending conferences, taking assessments, and utilizing these resources will help you explore more fields of pharmacy and give you tools to identify your passions.

Financial management is a necessity during one's career. For everyone from current students to recent graduates with student loan debt, and even pharmacists who have been in practice for years, we have compiled resources on topics such as budgeting, investment and retirement to assist you in your financial journey.

Students, faculty and staff can access Career Enhancement Series resources on the KPIC Intranet page.

Alumni interested in accessing these resources should contact Pamela Hite.
