Prior to joining the faculty, Jordan practiced law in Columbia for over a decade at Gallivan, White, and Boyd, where she focused on complex, high-stakes appellate and litigation matters requiring unique or extensive risk management, research, analysis, and strategy. During her practice, Jordan represented clients in a variety of employment, products liability, and business matters in both federal and state courts.
Jordan began her legal career in Alabama as a term federal law clerk for the Late Honorable James H. Hancock of the Northern District, after which she practiced for several years in the employment and litigation groups at Bradley in Birmingham, Alabama. Jordan left Bradley when she was asked to serve as the permanent federal law clerk for R. David Proctor of the Northern District, and she was asked to continue her federal service as a staff attorney for Judges Hancock and Proctor upon her move to South Carolina in 2008. Jordan became a member of the South Carolina Bar in 2012 and is admitted to practice in all state courts, the District of South Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit; she also remains an active member of the Alabama Bar, where she is admitted to practice in all state courts, federal district courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Jordan received her B.A., cum laude, with High Honors in English and Philosophy, from Vanderbilt University, where she served as Vice President of the Honor Counsel and as a nationally ranked member of the Vanderbilt Debate Team. She earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law, where she was a member of Order of the Coif and served as Developmental Editor of the Alabama Law Review and Swing Advocate on the National Moot Court Team.
Born and raised in Decatur, Alabama, Jordan has been proud to call South Carolina home for 16 years. She and her husband, Adam, are the proud parents of two girls, a sophomore at the University of Georgia and a senior in high school.
