Background
Taylor Ramp, a seasoned professional with a diverse background in sport administration, business education and marketing, joined the Department of Sport and Entertainment Management within the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management at the University of South Carolina in August 2024. She successfully navigated roles in educational institutions, professional sports teams and corporate environments to establish a career defined by a commitment to excellence, leadership and a passion for sports and education.
Prior to joining USC, Ramp spent six years teaching at a pair of high schools. She taught sports marketing classes at Georgia Cyber Academy and was pivotal in developing a comprehensive curriculum, mentoring new teachers and enhancing the educational experience for students. Her tenure at River Bluff High School as a business education teacher was marked by leadership in both the classroom and on the athletic field where she coached softball and advised student organizations.
As campus director at Arclabs Welding School, Ramp was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school through leadership, direction, financial management and accountability. Her experience with the Erwin Penland Agency as an account manager for Verizon's sport sponsorships and the NHL's Nashville Predators' ticket office allowed her to manage high-profile accounts and complex operations, further enhancing her expertise in sports marketing and event management. While a member of the Predators, her coworkers awarded her the Lady Byng Award for "Best Sportsmanship" for the 2011-12 season.
Ramp's professional career also includes stints with Duke University athletics and IMG College, MLB's Tampa Bay Rays, the NFL's Tennessee Titans, Vanderbilt University athletics and the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel.
