How to Apply
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering or computing (or the equivalent) to meet minimum admission requirements.
All Applicants
All applications for a graduate program, or for admission as non-degree student, must be submitted to the Graduate School of the University of South Carolina. The Graduate School provides helpful information on the admissions application process and even lets you know what to do before you apply. The Graduate School can be reached by phone at 803-777-4243.

Distance Education Applicants
Distance education (APOGEE) students follow the same procedures as the on-campus graduate applicants.
However, make sure to select the right version of the program if you’re applying for distance education. On the Graduate School’s application:
- The distance education designator for graduate programs in Computer Science and in Aerospace, Civil, Computer, Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering is “APOGEE” (a program of graduate engineering education).
- The distance education designator for the Master of Health Information Technology is “online.”
- There is not a unique distance education designator on the application for Engineering Management or a graduate certificate program.
Visit our Distance Education page for more information about available programs.
