Resident Assistant (RA) 

The Resident Assistant (RA) is a full-time student selected to serve as an advisor, referral resource, and positive role model to residents by exhibiting compassion and concern to guide them through their Carolina experience. Under direct supervision, the RA ensures the safety and security of residents through established protocols, provides administrative support and assists with larger departmental initiatives. Under general supervision and in alignment with the Knowing, Connecting, Empowering Student Engagement framework. The RA hosts events, shares important information, has intentional conversations with a focus on a group of 25 to 60 residents.

SPURS

The SPURS program has been a part of University Housing for over 10 years. In order to best serve the department and our residents, the role strives to provide excellent customer service both in person and through multiple mediums of communication to assist parents, students, and university stakeholders with the optimal housing experience. SPURS serve as the front lines of University Housing in the main office, as well as our Neighborhood Service Offices (NSOs).

 

Summer Student Conference Assistant

The Conference Center at the University of South Carolina is a division of University Housing and hosts thousands of guests each year through Summer Conferences and Camps and Special Events. The Conference Center’s primary focus for summer conferences and camps is to provide housing and meeting services to official University departments and their guests within the University of South Carolina system. 

Under the supervision of the Conference Center Coordinator and the Summer Conference Managers, the Conference Assistant is responsible for servicing the needs of conference groups and their participants. The conference assistant will be involved in all phases of the conference program preparation and servicing specific conference needs.  Summer conferences and camps at the University of South Carolina currently range in size from 1 to 1,000 people, with young participants through professional adult guests.

 

Summer Conference Building Manager

The Conference Center at the University of South Carolina hosts thousands of guests each summer. On campus housing is converted to guest housing and made available from May to August.  Conferences, camps, and special events are hosted throughout the USC campus. Groups currently range in size and participants vary from youth sports and academic programs, new student orientation, college interns and professional adult guests.

The focus for this position is to function as a manager of an on-campus housing facility.  The Conference building manager will be responsible for a team of 4-8 student workers. The building will house conferences and camp guests throughout the summer months. The Manager will be supervised by the Assistant Director and the Operations Manager of the Conference Center. 

 

FIXX Assistant

As a FIXX assistant you will be responsible for managing inbound calls, creating, and submitting service requests.   Work hours are variable, including weekend and evening work throughout the semester to meet the department's needs.
