- Have you paid your enrollment deposit?
- Have you waited 48-72 hours after you paid your enrollment deposit before logging into the Housing Portal?
- Have you set-up your USC username and password and set up multi-factor authentication?

In order to apply for housing you must have been accepted into USC and have paid your Enrollment Deposit (non-refundable).

$100 Non-Refundable Housing Application Fee
Before submitting your housing application, you are required to pay a $100 nonrefundable application fee.

Explore Your Options
USC has several community experiences for students who live on campus. Living and Learning Communities (LLCs), Special Interest Groups and First-year Carolina Community (FYCC) are three options for first-year students. While LLCs are interest based, FYCC is an option for students who wish to live with students, regardless of similar interest.

Gender Inclusive Housing (GIH) For residents of differing gender identities and sexual orientations to live in a supportive and understanding environment regardless of sex assigned at birth.

Submit Your Application
You may now submit your completed housing application.

Roommate Matching
If you complete your housing app by May 5, you will be able to participate in roommate matching. You will return to the housing app to begin roommate matching according to your housing app complete date.
Roommate groups are not guaranteed.

Room Selection
If you complete your housing app by May 5, you will be able to choose your own room. You will return to the housing portal in late May/early June to choose your room. Your room selection timeslot is based on when you complete your housing application.

Housing Fee Deferral Form
First-year students who are experiencing a financial hardship may fill out the deferral request form.

Housing Exemption Form
First-year students who live within Richland or Lexington County are eligible to request a Housing Exemption.
Students must email us to gain access to the exemption process in the Housing Portal.

Cancel Housing Application
Students who need to cancel their Housing Application may email us.
Keep in mind, freshmen are required to live on campus for a full academic year. Be sure to read your housing contract and all of the details about housing cancellations and refunds.
