Performing the music of Trinidad and Tobago, island classics and popular music, this group of 12-18 members comes from all academic disciplines throughout the university community.
Musicians perform on 55-gallon oil drums transformed into musical instruments. Each semester the ensemble presents a concert at the School of Music, performs at community events, schools and private parties, and is on the regular roster of Wednesdays at Trinity Series.
Palmetto Pans is offered as a class through the School of Music and is open to all university students with the permission of the instructor.
If you’re interested in joining a percussion ensemble or would like to have a group perform for an upcoming event, contact Scott Herring.
