Innovation Tours Program Overview
The Innovation Study Tours offer HRSM students an unparalleled opportunity to explore global innovation hubs in the U.S. and beyond. Through immersive, hands-on experiences, students gain invaluable insights into the latest trends and practices shaping their industries.
For the 2024-25 academic year, the college is proud to offer scholarships to support these transformative study tours, with destinations including New York, Orlando and Las Vegas. Each tour will provide 25-30 students with the chance to engage with leaders and innovators, broadening their perspectives and sharpening their skills.

Student Eligibility
- HRSM Major with sophomore academic status (at least 30 credit hours)
- Recommendation from faculty member
- Submit a completed application outlining what they hope to get out of the travel experience.
- Students do NOT need to register for a course to participate in these innovation study tours. They are experiential learning opportunities to gain insight into how HRSM industries are performed in innovation centers across the country.
- Students should not miss class to participate in these study tours. They are designed to be held during breaks in the academic semester.
- A select number of HRSM Student Leaders will receive priority in attending each innovation study tour.
Scholarship Awards
Award recipients receive up to $1,250 depending on the travel location. Winners will receive their scholarship about one week after the tour and have met all the established requirements.
Anticipated Travel Schedule
- Oct. 17-18, 2024: New York (Sport and Entertainment Management Majors)
- Jan. 9-12, 2024: New York (Retailing Majors)
- May 2025: Orlando (Hospitality and Tourism Management Majors)
- May 19-23, 2025: Las Vegas (All HRSM Majors)
Office of Innovation
The College of HRSM’s Office of Innovation oversees the Dean’s Innovation Fund and the Innovation Study Tour Program. The office was established to encourage faculty and staff to pursue innovation and inquiry so that the College of HRSM is a leader in our fields.
