New York Fashion Week
Beginning in fall 2017, South Carolina has been among a handful of universities around the country selected for CLC/Learfield's UofNYFW program. Two retailing students receive scholarships for the program that allow them special access to NYFW and networking opportunities with fashion industry leaders with an emphasis on experiential learning.

McCutchen House
McCutchen House is an on-campus restaurant that is managed by students and faculty from USC's School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. There are a variety of dining options throughout the year, and customers get to play an important role in the career development of students.

Tournament Venues Tour
A popular Maymester class for students is tournament operations led by sport and entertainment management professor John Grady. For this experience, students learn about golf and tennis tournament operations along the South Carolina and Florida coasts.

Gamecock iHub
Under the management leadership of retailing faculty and staff, the Gamecock iHub is operated by students — providing a valuable opportunity to earn real-world experience working with a global retail leader. Students gain pragmatic knowledge in sales, inventory management and operations, while also receiving niche training in areas of marketing, brand management and asset protection.

Marriott Culinary Lab
The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation Culinary Laboratory, located in the Close-Hipp building, is a 2,000-square foot state-of-the-art commercial kitchen and technology-enhanced classroom providing students with dynamic hands-on experience to prepare for careers in event planning, restaurant management, hotel operations and more.

Operation Gameday
Students who take classes such as gameday operations in the Department of Sport and Entertainment Management get to work large-scale sporting events like Gamecock football games. These opportunities enrich their learning experience by giving them encounters with real fans to enhance their interpersonal and customer service skills.

NRF Big Show
The National Retail Federation hosts the biggest retail industry conference in New York City, and South Carolina retailing students are at the center of the action. Each year, a group of students and faculty head to the Big Apple to learn the latest trends and connect with top employers.

Golf Galore
Students gain valuable experience each year at some of the most famous golf tournaments in the country thanks to the college's industry partnerships. Past events include the PGA Championship, U.S. Women's Open, Ryder Cup, Wells Fargo Championship, Presidents Cup, and other majors on the PGA Tour.

Students taking classes in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management have several courses available to them in the area of food and beverage management. Introduction to beverage management gives students a broad understanding of the beverage industry and also some unique learning opportunities with mixology.
