Collaboration and creativity in political science research
Our faculty specialize in subfields such as spatial analysis, qualitative methods, causal inference and field experiments. In recent years faculty members have produced new insights into topics as varied as:
- the rule of law; the challenges of failed, democratizing and democratic states.
- geography in political matters including voting and international conflict.
- social movements and collective action across the globe.
- variations in public policies in the United State and other countries or nation-states.
- the enduring value of Aristotle’s politics; the role of culture in political values.
The department is heavily invested in collaborative research, and scholars frequently pursue projects with their undergraduate and especially graduate students.
