Research Topics
Specializations include key areas of international relations, the study of international political economy, international conflict and foreign policy analysis. Faculty expertise crosses boundaries between these areas, connecting conflict and IPE as well as linking internal and external politics as a crucial approach to the study of international relations.
Faculty Exposure
Many senior faculty members have held distinguished positions in scholarly associations, and all are professionally active with emerging national reputations. Our faculty generates successful grant activity and have published in major journals and with top university presses. Our junior and newer faculty members especially contribute to growing our strength in methodology.
Graduate Students
Our department provides academic and professional training to Ph.D. candidates from our state, region, across the country and abroad, with strong support for international students. South Carolina is well represented by International Relations alumni in academic, research and governmental positions domestically and worldwide.
