Research Topics 

Our department is well-staffed in political methodology, offering broad training across a wide range of methodologies. With a commitment to analytical rigor, faculty and graduate students have published their research using revolutionary methodological tools, benefiting from recent advances in computing power and the increased availability of quantitative data. 

Faculty Exposure 

Faculty members have published articles in leading journals, including the American Journal of Political Science, Political Analysis, Journal of Politics and Public Opinion Quarterly. Notably, a member also wrote a monograph for the Analytical Methods for Social Research book series from Cambridge University Press. In addition, faculty members have taught at the ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research and the Empirical Implications of Theoretical Models (EITM) Summer Institute. 

Graduate Students 

Our graduate students have demonstrated great success in the field. Several have been invited participants at the highly selective EITM Summer Institute, and a recent Ph.D. student was the recipient of the inaugural EITM Certification Scholarship, a highly competitive scholarship that covered tuition for courses at the ICPSR Summer Program.
