Anna grew up in the Columbia area. She earned her BSW at Columbia College in 2012, and her MSW at USC in 2013. After graduate school she started a career in higher ed and social work in Hiroshima, Japan. She supported the Global Studies, Peace, and Leadership Summer Seminar at Hiroshima Jogakuin University. The Summer Seminar brought students and young professionals from around the world to learn from survivors of the atomic bomb about their experiences in health, social, and economic recovery.

She has traveled to nine countries, with the most recent being Iceland where she was married. Anna is always looking for opportunities to travel the globe and meet new people. She lives in Elgin with her Husband, James. Together they have a dog, two cats, five chickens, and occasionally honey bees. She loves cooking, kayaking, and camping.
