At a Glance

Earning a social work degree from the University of South Carolina will provide you with the knowledge and skills to work with individuals, families, groups, communities and organizations. Our graduates work in a variety of settings, including major medical centers, corporations and even a professional sports franchise.  

Why Social Work?

Social workers are advocates, educators, therapists, coordinators, community organizers, researchers and administrators. The College of Social Work provides students with the knowledge, skills and values to practice as advanced generalist social workers. Career opportunities are available in fields such as immigration services, military and veterans, economic development, and research.

My social work education and field experience at the College of Social Work helped me in my career because it has allowed me to provide more services to clients at a higher level than in the past. I’m able to help provide the best care possible to patients.
