Background

Sharon Walker is the South Carolina Citizen Review Panel (CRP) Coordinator and a Child Welfare Trainer for the Children’s Law Center. Sharon assists the Citizen Review Panels in the development of objectives and implementation of work plans which include research support, data analysis, and obtaining information as requested. She provides the panel members with information on current issues, including statutory and policy updates, coordinates training to support CRP members in performing their responsibilities, and provides support for CRP meetings. As part of her duties as a Child Welfare Trainer, Sharon assists with the delivery of court skills training for child welfare professionals.

Sharon has nearly 15 years of work experience with Richland County Court Appointed Special Advocates where she worked as a CASA Supervisor and Program Manager. Prior to coming to the Children’s Law Center, she was a Child Welfare Trainer for the Centers for Child and Family Studies at the Benson Center on the campus of the University of South Carolina.
