Background
Laura Lane-Steele joined the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2022. Her research focuses on questions of sex discrimination across different areas of law, including constitutional law, anti-discrimination law, and family law.
Prior to joining South Carolina Law, Lane-Steele was a Forrester Fellow at Tulane Law School. She also clerked for the Honorable Jane R. Roth of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and practiced law at Steptoe & Johnson LLP. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School in 2016 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2010. Prior to law school, she taught middle and high school math and science in Washington, D.C.
