Leah Stuhler

Leah Stuhler is excited to be part of the Department of Theatre and Dance. Leah has been acting, dancing, and singing her whole life, and can’t think of a better place to put her talents to use than in a university theatre and dance program. Leah holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre, with concentrations in Acting and Directing, and a minor in Journalism, from Messiah College in Grantham, PA. She earned her middle/high school teaching certificate through the South Carolina PACE program.

Leah and her family moved to SC from Chicago, IL. While living in Chicago for 11 years, Leah worked as an actor, director, and theatre teacher for Chicago based theatre companies. Her experience encompassed stage, film, and television. After moving to SC, Leah worked from home and was the Assistant Director for two musical productions at Round Top Elementary School. She also taught an Acting 101 class at her local YMCA. In addition, Leah began working with the Middle and High School Fine Arts program at her church. She has worked with them since 2014, taking her groups to the National Fine Arts competition each August and earning placements in the top three, including a first-place win. Leah worked as a middle school theatre teacher locally for five years before deciding to take the leap into higher education.

Leah is a proud military wife and the mother of two growing boys. When she's not teaching, you'll find her moonlighting as Blossom the Flower Fairy at local festivals and events. Leah is also the editor and a contributing writer for Columbia Mom Blog. In addition, she created and hosts her own podcast about Young Adult books called YA Book Chat (https://linktr.ee/YABookChat) and is the author of The Cupcake Bullies and Mystery Trip (available on Amazon). Leah enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, camping, reading, and baking.
