Undergraduate Philosophy Club
Join us to discover more about yourself and the perspectives of others. We discuss questions like "What is reality?" and "Is there a best life?" in a respectful and relaxed environment. We're open to any major and you can find out more about our meetings on Garnet Gate.
Minorities and Philosophy
Minorities and Philosophy (MAP) is an international organization that aims at addressing structural injustices in academic philosophy. It focuses on promoting: (a) the study of philosophy of gender, race, sexual orientation, class, disability, and native languages, (b) philosophy done from minority perspectives, (c) minority issues in the profession, and (d) less commonly taught philosophies. Our MAP chapter hosts many events, such as panel discussions, lectures with guest speakers, reading groups, and practical workshops. The UofSC chapter is the first undergraduate-led MAP chapter in the nation, but we also welcome graduate student participation.

Thomistic Institute
The Thomistic Institute seeks to bring the Catholic intellectual tradition into exchange with contemporary questions at secular universities. Drawing upon St. Thomas Aquinas, an eminent medieval philosopher and theologian, as our patron, we seek to enrich the intellectual formation of all students interested in fundamental questions of philosophy, theology, science, and art. The University of South Carolina chapter is one of over sixty student-run chapters at universities across the United States, Canada, and Europe. At the local level, we host public lectures, reading groups, and discussion groups. At the national level, students are able to attend workshops, conferences, and retreats featuring renowned scholars, and opportunities to connect and collaborate with like-minded peers at different universities abound.

South Carolina Society of Philosophy
The South Carolina Society of Philosophy is an outside organization that supports philosophy students and professionals in our state. They host an annual conference the beginning of each year. This is a great opportunity to connect with students from other universities and to network with professionals in the field.
