Spanish Contemporary Literature and Culture - Tenure-Track Assistant Professor
The faculty of the Spanish Program in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a 9-month, full-time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Contemporary Literature and Cultural Studies to begin August 16, 2024. We seek a scholar with an interdisciplinary research agenda on Contemporary Spain (20th-21st centuries). Individuals with research interests in such areas as Ideologies and Cultures, Film and Media Studies, or Gender and Sexuality Studies are especially encouraged to apply.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Spanish or related field in hand by 16 August 2024, at least four semesters of experience teaching at the college level as either instructor of record or graduate teaching assistant, and native or near-native command of both Spanish and English. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to our growing PhD program in Spanish. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester, with assignments in a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses in Spanish.
