University 101 can be a rich and rewarding teaching experience, but it can also be challenging. The faculty development model (visualized in the graphic to the right) helps give instructors the training and resources when they need it and when they are ready to receive it.

Faculty Resource Manual
This resource provides instructors with a guide for how to design, manage and teach a first-year seminar and evaluate student work. The manual also includes lesson plans, resources and information about topics relevant to first-year student needs. Current instructors have access to the Faculty Resource Manual on SharePoint. This publication is available for purchase to others through the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition's publication catalog.
Instructor Newsletter
During the fall semester, instructors and peer leaders will receive an email on Wednesdays that includes information and opportunities for instructors and students, resource spotlights and teaching tips. An archive of fall 2023 instructor newsletters is also available on this webpage.
