Dan Friedman, Assistant Vice President for University 101 Programs & the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition

Dan Friedman provides leadership for University 101 Programs and the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition (NRC). University 101 Programs is an academic unit that offers six academic courses, including over 330 sections of the first-year seminar (UNIV 101). The NRC is the trusted expert, internationally recognized leader, and clearinghouse for scholarship, policy, and best practice for all postsecondary student transitions.

Emily Boardman, Program Coordinator for Partnerships

Emily coordinates and oversees University 101 Programs' campus partnerships and specifically campus partner presentations. Emily also assists with the peer leader program, the development of courses to help students successfully transition through USC, and the office's communications strategy.

Jasmine Carter, Manager of Faculty Development

Jasmine manages the logistics for faculty development events and assessment. Jasmine also provides individual support for UNIV 101 Instructors and manages the M. Stuart Hunter Award for Outstanding Teaching.

Julia Clark-Spohn, Administrative Assistant

Julia assists with administrative support for the University 101 Programs Office. She facilitates the day-to-day operations of the office, coordinate logistics for various departmental events, and fields phone calls and emails.

Callyn Fahey, Assistant Director for Peer Leadership

Callyn Fahey oversees the Peer Leader Program, including the recruitment, selection, matching, and training of University 101 Peer Leaders.

Sandy Greene, Associate Director for Peer Leadership and Partnerships

Sandy Greene oversees the office's campus partnerships and Peer Leader Program. Sandy also oversees the course development of UNIV 201, UNIV 290, and UNIV 401.

Dominique Harris, Graduate Assistant for Peer Leadership

Dominique Harris supports Peer Leaders through the recruitment, selection, matching, and training process as well as the training and development of Senior Peer Leaders.

Katie Hopkins, Associate Director for Faculty Development and Resources

Katie Hopkins leads the faculty development and resources areas. Katie is responsible for the training and support of UNIV 101 instructors and serves as the primary point of contact for new instructors. Katie also oversees the Graduate Leader Program and the curricular resources for UNIV 101.

Katie Morton, Assistant Director for Course Development

Katie Morton oversees the expansion of courses offered by University 101 Programs. She leads the development of a career exploration and experiential learning seminar (UNIV 201), a residentially-based special topics seminar (UNIV 290), and a capstone seminar (UNIV 401).

Dustin Roberts, Associate Director for Administration

Dustin Roberts oversees the University 101 syllabus review process and assists with quality enhancement efforts within University 101 Programs to ensure a high-quality course experience, document program effectiveness, and identify improvement strategies. Dustin also manages departmental administrative functions related to facilities management, IT, and event management by supervising the administrative support team.

Madison Wilke, Academic Course Scheduler

Madison Wilke coordinates the schedule for UNIV courses, manages the instructor credentialing process, and coordinates logistics for various departmental events.
