Community Connections

The university's historic gates are open to all. And Student Affairs and Academic Support is committed to making sure that every student has access to the programs, tools and resources they need to feel safe, included, connected and able to achieve their full potential.

Carolinian Creed

The creed is an expression of the university's values and the behaviors and characteristics to which Carolinians aspire: respect, integrity, civility, compassion, empathy, openness, inclusion and concern for each individual.

Cultural Programs and Engagement

USC offers social and educational opportunities and recognition programs, from small discussion groups to Hip Hop Wednesday celebrations on Greene Street to annual awards ceremonies honoring excellence among multicultural communities.

Disability Resource Center

The Student Disability Resource Center staff members coordinate efforts to ensure that students with disabilities receive reasonable accommodations, and they serve as consultants to faculty, staff and campus partners.

Fraternity and Sorority Life

Greek organization chapters at USC include the nine historically Black organizations within the National Pan-Hellenic Council and five culturally based fraternities and sororities within Multicultural Greek Council.

International House at Maxcy College

The Carolina International House at Maxcy College is a living and learning community of domestic and international students that promotes cross-cultural understanding within the college and across campus.

Multicultural Student Affairs

Programs, services and student organizations support a variety of student populations, and educational initiatives help the campus community to become more knowledgeable and welcoming.

Multicultural Student Support

To meet the unique needs of students from a variety of communities, USC offers a number of groups and programs including small affinity and community groups, the Multicultural Assistance Peer Program and an initiative to support incoming LGBTQ+ students.

Spiritual and Religious Life

Students have a variety of ways to practice or explore religion and spirituality — from religious affiliates supporting students' spiritual needs, to religious centers near campus, to faith-based student organizations to prayer and meditation spaces on campus.
