Office of Research Compliance

The Office of Research Compliance (ORC) provides support for the University of South Carolina research community by assisting its researchers stay abreast of and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

ORC strives to ensure that the USC’s faculty, students and staff, conduct their research activities in a manner that is consistent with established ethical principles, regulatory requirements, and organizational policy. To this end, ORC assists investigators, department chairs, deans and upper administration implement policies and adhere to regulatory requirements in the following areas:

human subject protection
laboratory animal welfare
disclosure and management of financial conflicts of interest
scientific misconduct
export controls
