Internships
Choose an internship related to your career aspirations or interests to get the most from it. Internships can be part-time or full-time, paid or unpaid, and are available to students of all majors. You can participate in our Carolina Internship Program (CIP) or you may be eligible for an academic internship where you could receive class credit (depending on your academic department).
We define an internship as a one semester experience with an employer. Start and end dates must align according to the academic calendar and you may either intern full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time (20 hours per week).
Cooperative Education (Co-op)
Co-ops can be part-time or full-time, must be paid, and are available to students of all majors. If you obtain a co-op, you must participate in our Co-op Program.
A co-op serves as a two or more semester experience with an employer. Start and end dates must align according to the academic calendar. You may either complete a parallel co-op where you work part-time while attending school full-time for 3 consecutive semesters or you may complete an alternative co-op where you work full-time while alternating semesters of working and attending school.
