Background

Farid Sadik, Ph.D., dean emeritus and professor emeritus of the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy, served as dean from 1996 to 2005. Dr. Sadik’s leadership and vision were key to enhancing the college’s role in the global pharmacy community. Throughout his career, he focused on fostering innovation in pharmaceutical sciences, securing significant research funding, and mentoring future leaders in the field. 

Dr. Sadik held held various leadership roles in the College of Pharmacy, including chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences. He was recognized for his excellence in teaching, receiving the Amoco Teaching Award at the University of South Carolina in 1982 and the Mungo Undergraduate Teaching Award in 1995. After his retirement in 2005, Dr. Sadik’s contributions to pharmacy education and research continue to influence the college and the profession. Three of his four children followed in his footsteps to become pharmacists.
