External transfer students (applying to the Moore School from a school outside of the USC-Columbia campus) must apply directly through South Carolina's Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Internal transfer students (applying to the Moore School from another college within USC-Columbia) should follow the "Internal Transfer Application Process" outlined below.
At this time, students are expected to have a cumulative college GPA of at least a 3.25 and have completed a college-level calculus course with a "C" or higher prior to admission to the Darla Moore School of Business.
Admission to the Moore School is competitive and subject to space availability. Please note that we will consider transfer, international transfer or change-of-campus applicants for fall semesters only.
The application deadline for fall is March 1. Late applications are not accepted.
If you have any questions about the application process, please contact us at undergrad@moore.sc.edu.
Application for internal transfer
At the time of application, internal transfer students must have:
- A minimum South Carolina cumulative GPA of a 3.25,
- Completed a minimum of 15 USC semester hours and
- A grade of C or higher in calculus (MATH 122 or 141)
Applicants must have all requirements met at the time of application submission. Applicants who do not meet these admission requirements at the time of application will be denied and will need to reapply for a future term.
Applications will not be accepted after established deadlines.
In addition to the academic admission requirements of the Moore School, a limit on admission to the college could be imposed. An enrollment limit would become necessary if enrollment levels exceed school staffing capabilities and resources. The Undergraduate Admissions Committee, in consultation with the dean of the school, are responsible for adjusting undergraduate enrollment levels to ensure the quality of the undergraduate program. A student who meets admission criteria will be favorably considered, but because of space limitations, admission cannot be guaranteed.
Pending approval, students should expect changes to the internal transfer policy beginning fall 2017.
Admission will be competitive based on space availability. Not all eligible candidates will be admitted. The minimum GPA for admission will be raised.
There will be no spring admission after spring 2017. Spring 2017 will be the last spring term for which a student could apply for transfer. Beginning in fall 2017, applicants will only be considered for transfer to the Moore School for fall terms.
Please plan accordingly and speak to a major change advisor in the University Advising Center.
