The School of Music prepares musicians for professional careers and leadership in music teaching, performance, composition, research and related fields. The school enriches the quality of life in Columbia, South Carolina, and beyond by maximizing the power of music in the lives of our citizens and in the communities where they live.

About 83 percent of all undergraduate music majors are on scholarships that total more than $800,000 per year. We have an imperative to continue to raise funds to sustain the quality of our programs.
We require a significant number of fellowships and assistantships to remain competitive with other institutions for graduate students. At the School of Music, 66 percent of all graduate music majors are on this type of aid.
Begun in 2003, this festival is one of the crowning events in the School of Music’s annual season of great music. With your support, we can continue to bring the world of music to our community every summer.
Support the award-winning series devoted to exploring three decades of contemporary classical and world music, as well as masterworks of the 20th century.
One of only a handful of private and public universities with a permanent string quartet in residence, USC’s School of Music hosts the Parker Quartet for a week each semester. Residencies allow concentrated teaching, outreach and performance for our faculty, students and the community.
