Children's Physical Activity Research Group (CPARG)

The Children's Physical Activity Research Group (CPARG) is an interdisciplinary team of faculty, staff, and graduate students who are dedicated to expanding the body of knowledge on physical activity and its promotion in children and adolescents. An overarching aim of CPARG is to enhance the health of young people by generating the knowledge needed to design and implement effective public health policies.

 

Areas of research interest include:

  • Measurement of physical activity in children and adolescents
  • Interventions to increase physical activity of young people
  • Influences on physical activity behavior during childhood and adolescence
  • Relationships between physical activity and other health parameters in youth
  • Surveillance of physical activity in populations of young people
  • Impact of physical activity on body weight status in youth
