Dr. Sharon Weissman, Chair of the Department of Medicine, and a clinical professor of medicine, has been awarded a 2024 James E. Clyburn Health Equity Leadership Award. The awards recognize the contributions made by individuals and community organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to improving and protecting the health of the community, particularly vulnerable populations with established health disparities.

Dr. Weissman earned a Health Care Leader in Public Health Award, which recognizes members of the healthcare workforce who have contributed to public health initiatives and helped to reduce health disparities in their patient population(s). Congratulations Dr. Weissman!
