Law

The South Carolina Honors College offers courses, support and unique opportunities for our students interested in law school and a legal career, whether they are pursuing their juris doctor from USC's outstanding Rice School of Law or many of the other top-tier law schools where our graduates are accepted each year.

Our Path for Aspiring Lawyers

In addition to the Honors curriculum and experience that prepares our students to enter and thrive at the nation's best law schools, the Honors College also offers two unique opportunities in collaboration with the USC Rice School of Law.

Accelerated Undergraduate to J.D.

This “fast track” program enables students to receive an undergraduate degree from the South Carolina Honors College, followed by a juris doctor from the USC Rice School of Law. Students admitted to this program typically complete their undergraduate degree and their law degree in six years. Learn more.

Joseph F. Rice School of Law Admission Partnership Program

We also offer a second partnership program with USC's Rice School of Law that offers qualified Honors College graduates automatic admission to the law school, provided that they meet the following requirements.

Qualifications
Financial Support

All applicants will be eligible for scholarship review. South Carolina residents who earn a 160 or higher on the LSAT will receive financial support of at least $5,000 per year. Nonresidents who earn a 160 or higher on their LSATS will receive substantially reduced tuition.

Law Beyond USC

While the advantage of going to USC's Joseph F. Rice School of Law is undeniable, our graduates often find themselves pursuing law degrees at other top-tier law schools. Wherever your path to the law takes you, you'll receive personalized attention and advice on how to successfully apply.
