Cub Scout Nova Program
The Boy Scouts of America’s NOVA Awards program incorporates learning with cool activities and exposure to science, technology, engineering and mathematics for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA members, and Venturers. The hope is that the requirements and activities for earning these awards stimulate interest in STEM-related fields and show how science, technology, engineering and mathematics apply to everyday living and the world around them.
Our graduate students demonstrated geology and marine science to Pack 48 cub scouts on Oct 18, 2021. Some boy scouts also joined our activity.
Earthquake Talk
We worked with the Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology high school, a STEM certified high school for Juniors and seniors and explained the concept of earthquake proofing structures to the students who were doing a project on the same.
