Students and Alternative Testing

Our Alternative Testing Services provide a more quiet environment and additional testing accommodations.  Our alternative testing guidelines and frequently asked questions (FAQs) can help ease the understanding of our process.

Guidelines for Reasonable Testing Accommodations

SDRC is responsible for providing reasonable accommodations in a timely manner.  Failure to adhere to the guidelines below may impact the SDRC's ability to provide testing accommodations.  If you have questions, please refer to our Student Alternative Testing FAQs.

1. Request your Faculty Notification Letters to be sent to your Instructor.

2. Submit exam request at least 5 business days before exam date.  This applies to online and in-person courses. Business days do not include weekends and holidays.

3. Schedule your exam within our alternative testing hours.  These hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am-9:00 pm and Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm.  Please contact us if your test time doesn't fall within these time ranges.

4. For in-person exams on exam date:

  1. Arrive on time.  If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to provide your test.
  2. Arrive with your student ID.
  3. During high volume testing times, more than one room may be used for proctoring. Refer to your USC email for instructions on what room to report to.
  4. Enter quietly.
  5. Leave all personal and non-testing items in a locker in Suite 203 or at the front of the classroom if you are testing in a different room. (Note: SDRC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced items).
  6. Show student ID to receive your exam.
  7. Return completed exam to the test proctor. Once returned, you cannot look back at your test.
  8. Clean your testing area before departure.  If you need assistance, please let the test proctor know.  Cleaning supplies will be provided.
  9. Exit quietly.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
