A Community for High Ability Students
Capstone Scholars are interested in getting the most of their education, whether that
occurs inside or outside of the classroom. You can find Capstone Scholars among our
university's researchers, student leaders, entrepreneurs and top award recipients.
An Exclusive Community
The Capstone Scholars Program is invitation-only. Every student that is invited to join us has a very competitive grade point average, a university scholarship and high standardized test scores. Once Undergraduate Admissions invites a student to the Capstone Scholars Program they just need to pay their enrollment deposit. There is no additional step required to "accept" the invitation!
When you join the Capstone Scholars Program, you're joining the top group of academic
performers at Carolina. To learn more about the typical profile for incoming Capstone
Scholar invitees, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
A Personable Experience
Meet individually with Capstone Scholars staff members to share your goals and learn about opportunities on campus. They will also help you stay on track to meet Capstone's standards and requirements.
Living With Us
Capstone Scholars are encouraged to live in Capstone House and Columbia Hall with other Capstone Scholars where it is easy to meet other Capstone Scholars. However, it is not required, and Capstone Scholars are able to live anywhere on campus.
A Fast Walk to Class
The Capstone Scholars Village, which is comprised of Capstone House and Columbia Hall, is within a short walk to many of the academic buildings where you will attend class.
Suite Living
Both residence halls in Capstone Village are organized by suites, which means that two students share a room and two of these rooms share a common area. Housing's residence hall site offers samples of floor plans for each community on campus, including traditional and apartment arrangements.
Applying to be a Capstone Scholar
The Capstone Scholars Program accepts students by invitation only. When you apply
for admission to USC, you will be considered for the Capstone Scholars Program. Invited
students will be notified in March.
